Golden Gate Restaurant in Virginia

"12/06/24 I stopped by and get 6 egg rolls, large house fried rice, and large beef and broccoli. It was 60 dollars. The food was really good for the location. The amount they give you was big for the mains. Probably would order the smaller size going forward. The beef and broccoli has a great sauce. The egg roll are 3 bucks each but they are tasty."

"I personally judge based off the pepper steak and lunch specials.. this pepper steak is some of the best I’ve ever had no kizzy. I’m over here lapping like a dog it’s so good. I like how she was confident when we asked for her recommendations.. She stood on business and I see why. It’s really the peach tea for me lol. I planned on saving food for later but you know how that go… first we hesitated pulling up because of the surrounding buildings but you really can’t judge, because they’re very clean inside! She was extra friendly also, but even if she wasn’t I’d still be back because it’s good Chinese that’s all that matters."

"My first time trying this place even though it's been around for yrs. I recently noticed that they opened up where Sun Wah uses to be. I was telling my mom as we rode pass, and she was like GOLDEN GATE!! I said yea, she said I wonder if it the same location that was out park place. I told her yea I think so. She said let's go check it out. We ordered House Lomein and Shrimp Fried Rice. The things we order to test if we will return . We spoke with the lady and she confirmed that they are the same restaurant. She was nice and was happy that we stopped by. The food was on point takes me back too the Chinese joints I loved back in the day. They're a little pricey for a joint, but l will definitely be back"

"Born and raised in Virginia, but living in NY and yak is only sold HERE I knew I was choosing the right place when I called and asked about YAK and they said yes we have old school YAK and NAMED all the ingredients… I also got a small smoke… Baby Baby.. it was everything.. It reminded me of Charlie Wong that used to be on Bramton. The food was delicious. A++++++"

"This place takes me to my childhood back in the day when I lived in Lambert's Point and there was this place called the Rice Bowl on the corner of 39th and Boydens Ferry rd. accross the street from the corner market. This is where I fell in love with fried rice, small smoke, chop suey and of course yak, Norfolk style. So if you're feeling a little nostalgic for old style neighborhood Chinese takeout you should go there."
